[crw-talk] Looking for trees

I don’t think they survive this far north. My brother lives near Des Moines, and they have lots of them, but they don’t get the real below zero cold we do. The trees don’t seem to grow very large, like many apple trees, the have thorns and those gnarly yellow green fruits. The wood has a greenish color, with darker brown rings. It’s hard, but also seems prone to cracking.

Also known as Osage Orange. I doubt you'll find any in Wisconsin. Illinois and Iowa have some.
