The dowels idea – good one. This could work. Will take some finagling [tech term].
Don’t worry about breaking. All stainless alloys are very malleable – almost impossible to break no matter the amount of bending.

I would try applying pressure using a vice and three dowels. One dowel on the convex side of the bend. The possibility of snapping the blade does exist however. Do not apply heat. Enough heat to do the deed will ruin the temper and stainless is not easily re-tempered by an amateur.

This will be very difficult to do and keep it looking flat and straight. Applying heat won’t help and will change the surface appearance.

Was there some force applied to it while it was stored?
Applying an opposite force may straighten it. I am guessing it will need heating. I bet a metallurgist could tell you.

Hi everyone,
I am working on restoring my parents wedding knife for use for my nephew's wedding. After all of this time, it has developed a warp in the blade. Any ideas on how to fix this?
It is forged stainless steel and the blade is about 13 inches long.
Kris
