[crw-talk] CRW on-line activity

I'm game for a Zoom meeting, not being able to make the "meatspace"
gatherings for quite some time now. I think a few informal practice runs
would be a good idea. I have never used Zoom before but I've been told
it's not very challenging.
I am visiting friends north of the Twin Cities, working in their
woodshop making a batch of staved cylindrical drumshells for a Hmung
priestess. I will be back home on Tuesday but my hosts are alright with
me using their connection for Zoom, except for weekdays when their
oldest daughter is using it for school classes. Saturday morning would
work for me both at my friends' and at home once I get there. I also
have weekday late afternoon/early evenings that would have to be
scheduled a couple hours in advance. The hostess here works at home on
her computer for the U of M and has frequent Zoom meetings with her
colleagues. Just had a chat with her, she is very web-savvy and willing
to help so I can pick her brains and get advice. She uses the browser
connection on her laptop rather than the downloadable app, says it works
fine.
I am thinking of initiating a connection either tomorrow afternoon or
Friday for an informal meeting. Will post here an hour or two in
advance. We can gain some familiarity with the program before getting
serious with an actual club meeting.
I have been meaning to post some pictures of the drum project I'm
working on, just haven't gotten a round tuit. (I hear they can be turned
on the lathe LOL) Will try to do that in the next couple days.
Hope to virtually see some fellow club members soon!
