Apologies to those for whom this is a duplicate of Connie Helgerson’s mailing, but this could be a chance to get our input. We have copied the press release for the text in case some have trouble opening the attachment.

Arts Board Seeks Input for Strategic Plan

(LA CROSSE, WIS. – November 6, 2012) – The La Crosse Arts Board is hosting a series of public forums to gather community input for their strategic plan. The Board invites feedback from artists, art enthusiasts, downtown businesses and residents, and interested citizens to help determine its direction for the next three to five years. These open sessions will be similar in format and take place on:

· Wednesday, November 14th at noon at UW-L’s Center for the Arts (Room 120),

· Thursday, November 15th at 5:15pm at Logan High School (Media Center), and

· Thursday, November 15t at 7:15pm at City Hall (3rd Floor Conference Room.)

The sessions will cover a range of topics from outreach, community support, and promotion to events, facilities, and funding. While the discussion will be broad in scope, the general goal is to support the arts by fostering policies, programs, and projects that enhance the city.

The Arts Board is using strategic planning to spur creative development and activity that will benefit the region. Public involvement is crucial to the success and legitimacy of any plan or action that the Arts Board develops. Therefore, your input is needed to identify opportunities to capitalize on in the future.

The Arts Board promotes, supports, and advocates for the arts as an essential part of City and regional life. It celebrates the community’s diversity through creative endeavors and champions the arts as vital to economic growth. The Board meets on the first Monday of the month at 7:30am in the City Hall 3rd Floor Conference Room. The meetings are open to the public.
