<p class="x_x_MsoNormal">Funny what ya run into in a woodturning rag. The article author did an exploration and showed examples of making wood Morse tapers. Any hardwood will do. I’ve made a few, as some of you may have done.

<p class="x_x_MsoNormal">A quick web search of Stephen A Morse, a mechanic and the inventor of the metal Morse taper in the late 1800’s I discovered this article on PubMed, dated 2013.

<p class="x_x_MsoNormal">In my professional work life in health care and surgery, I never associated the “Morse” taper with orthopedic surgery. Enjoy the article, if nothin else to explore the Morse taper machine tooling to hip replacement surgery. Some
