Plan A was to use two rare earth magnets to hold the lid in place so placed one in the base then checked polarity so the top would stay in place, marked it and glued it in the lid. I had to tap it with a hammer to seat it and the blows with a steel hammer must have flipped the polarity and the lid would not stay centered. Dang! Spoke with Duane, he suggested I remove one magnet and replace it with steel. Drilled it out and replaced with a bit of 3/8” bolt, bingo! Thanks Duane. John
