Ash crotch from a tree killed by the borer. I turned it end grain orientation to get the feather between the limbs exposed in a different way. Catherine wood was rather dry, very hard to turn and catchy since I mostly used carbide tools; and the Hunter tools like to self feed and give me gouges to try to turn away.  Did a lot of scraping to get it sandable .  Letting my first coat is wipe on soak in as I write.  <br>
