One way to publicize the club.? I don't know the impact of Instagram on 
the kind of members we are likley to recruit.

Back in the pandemic days we entertained ourselves by posting photos of 
our work on CRW talk, it generated a lot of interest and comment.? Josh 
often posted the photos (with permission) on Instagram.? I think it 
might be worthwhile to post a photo of each instant gallery piece on the 
account.? Easy to do, we can utilize the pictures used in the Newsletter 
and with consent post on Instagram.? We could have a page on it giving 
details of the club for those who take an interest.

When I was actively trying to peddle my stuff (that ship has sailed) I 
posted on a Facebook page but never got any interest other then friends 
and family liking a picture.? Then I opened my own Instagram account but 
only made one sale.? People would like my stuff.? I gave up Instagram 
when all the woodturning pictures and posts disappeared and all that was 
left was Instagram trying to be like TicTok with clips of young people 
dancing.? So I took it off my phone and never looked back.? Day in and 
day out, I sold best in high end shows aimed at out of town money.? 
Local craft shows, local people won't spend the money.

Bottom line, someone with interest and knowledge of how it works could 
possibly benefit the club.

First, thank you to Bob R. for publicizing. 
 
Everyone ? I?m in a fundraiser for the Red Cross. Let me do the bloodletting. The February fundraiser is just that ? getting monetary donations. I?ve committed to walking 58 miles in February, hoping to get sponsors who donate something ? anything ? per mile. A penny, a nickel, a dime, or more ? your choice.
 
It?s all for a really good cause.

Big thank yous!The first foray by the Coulee Region Woodturning club at the 4H clover College 2024 was a wonderful experience.? ?Club members and the students seemed to have a fun time.? ?Kids seemed to be especially excited by the blue smoke that billowed as they wire burned some decorative lines on their projects.? Bob R. prepped all the blanks and kids could choose from blanks to make key chains, toothpick holders or Harry Potter wands.? We had prepped a few blanks for hobo reels and after a small mishap that turned a spool of fishing line into a frenetic slinky of frustration.? ?Lesson learned.
I would like to thank the Clover College staff and volunteers for inviting us to this fun and worthwhile activity.? The day was very well organized and the kids were excited , polite, and asked if we would be at the College next year!? We took that to mean they liked the experience.?
I would like to thank Jim Cox and John Clough for wood for the blanks,? John Fisher for his modification of the WEN lathe, and Aaron Gesicki, Bob Raasch, Bob Patros, Janine Skemp and Liam Maricle for helping with the students.? ? It was nice to get together for the event and I am looking forward to next year.
