Members,

That is an incredible total number of wig stands donated by our
members.  Thanks to everyone who had made them.  Denis Falch is our wig
stand champion, he has made a bunch of them, around a hundred if memory
serves..  And Denis' brother Doug does the finishing of them.  Bob
Raasch deserves a huge shout out for his tireless coordinating of this
project with Gundersen.  Thanks to all of you who tolerated my nagging
and bugging to keep making them.  Please keep it up after I am no longer
Program Director.

I made a wig stand for a neighbor who was receiving treatment in Eau
Claire, she was very grateful for it.  Luckily for her, her cancer is
now gone but the first episode of chemo was horrible for her.  The
remaining five treatments were not horrible, just awful, and I like to
think that getting that wig stand after the first treatment helped her
to decide to go on with it.  Things like this remind us that our club is
making an important contribution which is a part of our reason for
existence.  Service is good for us, as well as for others.

Thanks again,

John
