All good ideas, I think Jim's holds the most artistic potential. Having 
said that, I would just seal it up well with thin CA so you don't get 
more cracking, maybe shellac around the crack first so the wood is not 
stained by the CA, then sand, embrace the crack and finish of choice.  
Lastly, bring it to Instant Gallery!  John G
