>From a regular club member. Folks, good meeting last Saturday, wonderful
turnout.
Thank you to John G for providing the club's challenge makers gifts. Pays ta
do the fun challenge projects, I captured 3 wonderful goodies to play with.
And to Lavonne & Don for the burls auctioned off by auctioneer
extraordinaire and humourist Adrian. And to Pam we appreciate you as chef
supreme for the Chili and corn bread you made for us and your untiring
efforts to promote the club.
The Aline imitative Aaron mentioned will help with spreading the joy of
turning & the CRW; lots of us old timers fondly remember being introduced to
turning by watching Duane Hill work his magic several times at ALine many
many moons ago.
Starting Feb 10 is year of the Dragon according to Chinese culture in which
many good things will begin to happen as we take part in club happenings as
we all are able. All help is appreciated! And for me personally, I'm hoping
the "wig stand" community engagement activity will continue; cancer ain't
cured as we support women patients in their struggle. These stands help
spread the word that the Coulee Region turners indeed exists and is doing
good stuff. I picked up 2 stands, to be soon delivered to the cancer center.
Folk, please keep em coming!
I wish to acknowledge the Falch brothers; Denis & Doug for their long-term
membership and ongoing support to the clubs efforts to engage with the
community. They are the club's Supreme wig stand makers in terms of numbers
made. By my count, 191 stands have been made since Dec 2021 to support
patient health care in the coulee region consisting of northeast Iowa,
southeast Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.
