They are doing a Christmas celebration event on Saturday, December 3 at the main site outside of Coon Valley (not the farm before you get to Coon Valley from La Crosse on Highway 14 and 61). I don't have the hours but will at the meeting on Saturday. We will need a crew to transport a couple lathes etc, attend the event and turn as well as chat with those who pass by, and to display the myriad of beautiful things we turn. If you can't attend but want to have your stuff displayed and possibly sold, send it along. It will be sort of an Instant Gallery display where people can look at our pieces and buy so someone will need to have a cash box with some change and a piece of paper to keep track of the sales and eventually get the money and sales record to Jay for payout. Remember the club gets 25% of the sales so price accordingly. We will be inside, I think near the big fireplace and there will be a table to set up a display. I think they will have a meal too. I plan to be at the meeting so contact me if you can help out. As mentioned previously, I can't attend. You can have an enjoyable day, show your turning chops and help out the club, so please attend if possible. John -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... They may stretch an hour on either side but that?s what we?re planning on now. Yes, there will be lots of Norwegian food and baked goods, meatballs, mashed potatoes, lefse, sandbakels, rosettes, etc. All the treats that are made with lots of sugar and butter ?. The visitor?s center will be filled with lots of different happenings. The homestead will be decorated with Christmas, the blacksmith will be in his shop, and a few others. We are thinking that the woodworkers would be in the shelter with the fire going and the propane heaters heating. There are wooden doors that will be closed on one side, and plastic screens on the side facing the meadow. It?ll be a great location for people to stop when walking between the visitor?s shelter and the homestead. Clean up will be really easy, too. Would your group be okay being in the shelter?
