Actually an excellent idea, thanks Kris.  In that case I will leave my 
trailer home,just bring the pickup since John F is bringing a trailer

We have volunteered to demonstrate at the Folk Life La Crosse on July 17th. It runs from 10 am to 3 pm at the Historic Hixton House at 429 7th Street North in La Crosse. Set up begins at 9 am. We will need volunteers for some or all of the time. Please bring stuff to turn and anything you would like to sell.??
We volunteered at this event a couple of years ago and it was pretty well attended. Passengers from the American Countess cruise boat will be attending as well. Please bring food and water as there were not any food vendors at the event last time it was held. Please email me at mogoldfish at yahoo.com if you are able to volunteer or have any questions. Or call me at 608-345-5239.
On another note, I was planning on picking up the two club lathes this weekend to bring to the event, but I have come down with Covid and won't be able to do this.? If someone would like to pick them up, that would be great or else I will have to make arrangements to pick them up next week.? Please let me know.

Count me in.  Aaron, we will need someone to pick up the two Jet midi 
lathes at Luther, and since one is a sit-down, we will have to figure 
out a chair solution.  Unless someone brings a regular stand up one plus 
the club stand up one.  (That is what Kris gets the big bucks for 
figuring out.  Thank you Kris.)  If someone gets access to our stuff at 
Luther, perhaps bring along the club first aid kit.  Anyone who was at 
the move last Saturday knows how quickly one can take a tumble.  (I am 
healing, no lasting injuries, thanks to all who helped me.)  Also if we 
do get into Luther, the Easy Up tent would be nice to have.

Members, as Kris said, these are fun events.  If you can't be there but 
have stuff to sell make plans to get it to someone who is attending.

I have a credit card reader which I will bring so we can accept credit 
or debit cards, I will turn over to the club any transactions.

It will be a bit warm on Sunday; if you need a break from the heat, feel free to take a break in the Gift Shop. There is a waiting room type area set up inside. There is a port-a-potty behind the Gift Shop and a bathroom in the Gift Shop available for use.?
Street parking is free with no restrictions on the weekends around Hixon House and Western Technical College.?

Hello members,
Yesterday our club demonstrated at the Hixon House Folk Fest in La Crosse.  Thanks go to Duane for helping move the lathes, he has a low-to-the-ground trailer that works well for the task.  Dan Check, James Bloomer, Kris Clough and Aaron Gesicki turned and discussed how it is done to the visitors to our area.  Kris did the organizing and worked with the Historical Society to make it happen.  Julie Bloomer spoke with many visitors about her wonderful resin pens and how she casts the blanks. Dan and Myself talked with folks about the creation of the wooden pieces. I invited interested people to attend a meeting, so if we are lucky we will have some visitors at our inaugural meeting at Luther in August. A few items were sold and 25% of the take will go to the club.
Lastly but far from the least, Aaron gave a long interview to a Channel 8 reporter which was scheduled for broadcast at the six and ten PM newscasts last night. Sadly, I promptly ate and took a nap after I got home so I missed it. So Aaron, maybe that was your 15 minutes of fame, edited down to a minute or two on the broadcast perhaps.
So CRW was well represented yesterday.  Thanks to all who made it happen.

I had a gentleman. Jeff Hooverson, contact me last week. He has cur
down a cherry tree with several burls on it: He has several pieces of
cherry wood burls ranging from very large, 16" diameter to small. He
says he has 10 to 12 pieces. He would like to sell or have some things
made out of them for his wife and daughters. Would be willing to work
out something for all of them. He lives in Viroqua. His phone number
