[crw-talk] CRW 2023 Demo schedule

Members,

Please open the attached 2023 demonstration schedule.   I have five 
demos set so far.

Assuming we continue to do a potluck and a non-turning meeting next 
December, we have six more demos to fill.  I need your assistance so if 
you have a topic you would like to demonstrate, talk to me and reserve 
your date.  Remember, the club reimburses members $50.00 per demo.  A 
nice way to help finance your turning addiction, I might add.  
Demonstrating is not rocket science, just a bit of planning and 
forethought is required.  And your demos are always appreciated, even 
with the bloopers.

I believe the  demos given by our members are the grass-roots of 
woodturning.  The foundation of what we are as a club.

Having talked up members doing demos, a nice mix includes a professional 
or two as well. Mark Palma will be visiting next November 11.  We now 
have Wi Fi available so I am hoping to find another pro or two who could 
give a demo from their home shop, broadcast to us over the Internet and 
viewed on our club TV sets at the meeting.  As we have done with Zoom 
demos during the pandemic, they provide interaction between us and the 
demonstrator.

Who do you suggest?  Mike Peace did a great one and he charges a 
reasonable price.  Lyle Jameson is a great one, and he does remote 
demos.  Cindy Drozda might be possible s well as Jimmy Clewes, if they 
do remote demos.  The pros like Drozda, Clewes and Jameson will charge 
more.  Not every pro wants to do remote demos, less money for them and 
labor intensive if they use another person to run the sound and cameras.

Who would you like to consider?  Please give me your ideas.
