I remember Jim, as a gentle giant with a big heart full of kindness. He was always willing to share his knowledge, and took a special interest in assuring new members felt welcomed. He invited me to his shop on several occasions to help me learn hollowing techniques and how you can make multiple bowl blanks out of single piece of wood.

I too have great memories of times spent with Jim. I took my mom to his shop one time, over 13 years ago, and in Jim’s way, he gave her a beautiful bowl he turned. That’s Jim. Would give the shirt off his back. He will truly be missed by me.

Of course, reflective comments are always welcomed by our club community of creative & generous folks.
