I am reminded of many conversations over the years I've had with Jim Frank about the importance of introducing woodturning to new people - youth to mature folks, as I read this article in the latest edition of Woodturning by "Guest editor letter" by Jay Heryet.
Jim had a vision; he would be proud of what his local club is about to embark on by partnering with Onal Luther to further this creative craft of possibilities.
A couple of excerpts from the post. "The world is such a different place since I began turning in 1995, with many schools, naked of lathes and an ever-shrinking curriculum of practical subjects; not only do we have to encourage, we to introduce the next generation to turning. Turners have been doing this."
Finally, " We may teach the next generation of aspects of woodturning - they will teach us so much more about the future..."
The 1 page article is so much more.
Of course, reflective comments are always welcomed by our club community of creative & generous folks.
Thx for reading.
