Re: the wig stands, I think I can get two 2"x6"x8' cherry planks just
under 2" thick for free. Wet wood, home sawed, not skip planed, sawed
recently. If people are interested in them, I will see if I can get
them and cut them into kits for wig stands for members to make wig
stands. $2.00 donation to the club per kit (two 6" square top/bottom
pieces and 1 1/2" x 1/ 1/2" x 14" stem. You turn them and donate the
finished stand.
For the gear heads in this crowd, the sawmill used to cut the lumber is
home built, powered by a World War II military surplus Le Roi 1,000
Cubic inch gasoline engine. It is a monster. The blade cuts pretty
darn smooth. I hope to see it run next summer, it is all buttoned up
for the winter now.
