That’s a pretty thin spindle for its length. I’m not sure what the chair is made out of, but I would want to use hard clear maple to make those spindles. I would make them a little long, so someone could trim them to length and fit in the chair. The challenge will be staining and trying to match that old existing patina. I’m not very good at that.
