We have the Lion's Club Shelter just north of the Community Center Parking lot reserved. So the meeting will be outdoors. BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR. We will be following CDC Guidelines in place at the time of the meeting. We have a hands on demo scheduled. Duane Hill will assist all interested in using the club owned Sorby Texturing Tool and other texturing tools the club may own. He will also bring some of his tools, many along the lines of those discussed by Mike Peace in his remote for us demo last Saturday. Bring your own texturing tools too. We will have blanks mounted in chucks for practice, then we will turn off the texturing applied and the next tool and or person sill be used. We will be using a club owned Jet Midi lathe which we will wheel out to the shelter. Remember, the club owned tools are intended for lending so any member may borrow them. "Any member" is anyone who was a paid member in 2020 or has since joined. Remember, the club the owns the tools for the purpose of lending. The library will be open and the cart will be wheeled to just outside the Community Center. If you have any library materials checked out from the last meeting, you may return them at the meeting. Any member may also check out materials. James will use his phone to live stream the meeting. That is, he will "film" it, so to speak, and send it out for viewing as it happens, so members who choose not to attend in person may attend virtually through your internet connection and speak or ask questions. The board has plans to do this on an ongoing basis and will begin bringing more pros remotely to the Community Center in this manner in the future. We will begin our June meeting at 8:00 AM. We will need our Coffee Crew to come out of retirement and set up coffee at the shelter. James will be there with the building key at 8:00. We will need volunteers to assist in set up. The meeting will be called to order at 9:00 AM. James will be busy so it appears he may need a volunteer videographer to handle the live streaming. We will indeed have an Instant Gallery. Most of us have been flexing our creative muscles during the pandemic so be sure to bring your work and discuss it when the time comes. I mentioned we are planning more remote professional demos at the Community Center. Who might we consider in the forseeable future? Give me names. I already plan to look into Alan Lacer and Ashley Harwood. Although our club demo schedule has been set up (with several club members) we will alter it a bit if a pro opportunity comes up. If you plan to attend in person and have wood or something to sell, we will do that just like we used to back in the day. (I plan to bring a couple of items for sale and 25% of the take goes to the club.) John -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This could work. Will take some finagling [tech term]. Don?t worry about breaking. All stainless alloys are very malleable ? almost impossible to break no matter the amount of bending. Members of the CRW coffee crew, time to get ready to resume your very important tasks for the June meeting. We will start set up at 8 AM and plan to meet outdoors at the shelter just north of the Community center parking lot. so will need one or two pots perking away. It just occurred to me, I hope the coffee we have sitting in the crib is not too awfully stale, it has been untouched for 16 months. I am letting the rest of the board know about these plans too. And of course, we meet the third Saturday of June, usual time. John -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
