Members,

A few days ago I discussed using a hook tool for end grain hollowing,
Aaron G added a safety comment, use for end grain only. Very important.

I need to add another safety note: Mount your log with a face plate not
a chuck. Way too many forces are applied to the wood, it will go flying
if chucked. Once it is hollowed you might turn a tenon and chuck it for
finishing work, but when you are doing the hogging out, face plate mount
only.

Thanks for your attention, keep those chips flying safely, John
