Members, I am sending a few photos of a yarn bowl I recently made of a 
cherry log.  It is about 6" diameter at the top and perhaps 6" tall.  I 
turned it in spindle orientation and hollowed mostly with a hook tool, 
then finished up with a negative rake scraper. Cut the "J" shaped hole 
for yarn with a Forstner bit in a hand drill and a saber saw then 
finished with spray-on Polycrylic brand finish.  I am going to TRY to 
send a seperate brief video of me using the hook tool to make a walnut 
yarn bowl that is currently in the process of finish application.
