Good morning turners, hope you had a great Memorial day weekend, filled
with good memories and wood chips. The weather was right for both.
I wanted to update everyone here about some ongoing things behind the
scenes. Even though the current events have prevented our gatherings, your
officers are still working.
The first is Norskedalen; after some input from other members (Thanks John
and Adrian) and a phone call to the site, I have the following.
There is no physical event taking place. There is however a virtual event
to be held. They would like to get videos of us turning to add to their
virtual event. Still set for 22 June
Field trip; We have been in contact with Tim Schneider at Three Brothers
bats in West Salem, he was interested in hosting us for a demo of his
facilities. He and his brothers manufacture baseball bats (currently
machined though they did turn by hand). Tentatively, I was thinking for our
August meeting. I do welcome any thoughts or input on this.

Last is June meeting, I continue to monitor the situation with COVID 19. I
would feel comfortable with us meeting again when there has been a long
stretch of no new cases in the coulee region. So there will be no June
meeting.
