Good Afternoon Molly, I am Jim Bloomer, current president. Duane forwarded
on your email about an interest to become part of our merry band.
For emails Ken Grunke is our webmaster/keeper of the list which is why I
did the CRWtalk email as well. So that he can add you to our distribution
list. We use the email to make announcements, as well as share any works
with the rest of the members(something that has been happening quite a bit
with the current situation). We also have a facebook page, its currently in
its infancy. If you search for Coulee region Woodturners and select the one
that is a patch on a bed of shavings...thats it. Many memebers do not have
facebook, which is fine, its just another way to share your works with
others online. We also have an instagram under the same name. Last but not
least there is our web page at https://www.crwoodturner.com/index.shtml
this gives general informationa s well as helpful tutorials created by our
memebers over time.
Membership comes in two forms, paying and non-paying. You are welcome to
come to the meetings and enjoy the demos and information and fellowship
with others of the craft. Paying memebership add the benefit of the lending
library and the loaner tools. Paying members can sign out library items and
tools from the tool cribe from meeting to meeting. (about a month) the list
of tools is on the website. We will also hold demos from professional
turners, usually a general demo and then a deep dive for paying members.
Another reccommended membership is AAW Amercan Association of Woodturners
They are located in the cities. They are the sposor organisation for our
club and they also have large events during the year. Always worth a look.
As I mentioned in the Zoom meeting we are waiving member due for 2021 but
will welcome donations to help up cover operating costs as well as fund
improvement projuects for the club(we are looking at upgrading the sound
and video system we use for meetings.
in closing if there are any questions, concerns or general sharing feel
free to hit the CRW talk email. You will get an answer back pretty quickly
or feel free to email me at marine9096 at gmail.com. Apoligies for the length
...its a large chunk of info.
In Service
