Members,

We  have a humongous SILVER MAPLE tree in our yard that requires some
surgery which will be performed by a tree surgeon either Thursday or
Friday, August 13 or 14.  A few branches overhanging our garage and
another one growing into a different tree will be taken down.  (That is
a high falutin' way to say it will be trimmed by a guy with a chainsaw
in a bucket).  It will be trimmed into manageable chunks so as to not
damage our garage on the way down, and so should be easy for you to cart
off.  It is live and growing so if you have a passion to turn green
wood...you know what to do.  You might bring a chainsaw if you come up
here, I have an electric one with a 10" bar.  Not asking you to buck up
the whole thing, just to nip off what you want.  Lots of stuff in the 5"
to 10" diameter range, I suspect.

I have enough wood on hand for my own use to last well into my
reincarnation, should I be so fortunate to come back as a woodturner,
not a Border Collie or perhaps a Siamese cat; so I am giving woodturners
first dibs.  Free, but if you take some kindly make a donation to the
club next meeting whenever we meet again, honor system.  Whatever is not
claimed by club members will be offered to neighbors for firewood after
having been picked over by turners

Lots of incredible bowls and hollow forms growing here so take a road
trip, find a piece or three that suits your creative instincts and maybe
bring what you make to the next Instant Gallery.

Contact me to make plans to grab your piece of green treasure.

John
