Andrew,

This is a very nice piece.  Your proportions on the main piece and on the finial are very pleasing.  It looks like you used the Golden Ratio of 1.61803399:1.  As you make even more delicate finials, remember to always work from the tail stock to the head stock, including the sanding, to avoid breaking a very fine upper portion of the finial due to slight vibrations.

Keep turning.  You have a gift for art.

Hello, 

Figured I'd add a contribution.  Shop time is rare these days, but I found a few minutes to turn a log I got from Larry ( I think that's his name) at the last meeting. Don't know what the box wood is. First finial I've made.
