Members, too late to get on the demonstration schedule for this year,
but something I personally have an interest in and want to have
demonstrated is ornament making, specifically the hollow spherical ones,
like a ball about 2" diameter hollowed out with a finial on one end and
perhaps a cap of contrasting wood on the top. Made with a small, perhaps
homemade hollowing tool like an Allen wrench ground into a small
scraper. I'm talking pretty tiny here, not something you would take on
with your Jamison system
We have had demos on inside out ones, sea urchin ones; but if we have
made hollowed ones, it has been a few years. Two possibilities, one
would be a regular full meeting demo like any of our usual ones at some
time during the year. Second would be doing a small round robin demo in
our January meeting. Talk about getting a jump on the 2020 holiday season!
Anyone who wants to volunteer for this will become famous in the annuls
of CRW. After all, Virginia and Jack will curate your demo into the CRW
video library. So volunteer and make history. Shoot me an email,
corner me at the next meeting or however you wish to contact me, but
please help the club and the next program director. Heck, come on up to
my shop, we'll make some chips and talk demos. Thanks John
