First involves the Group Buy thru Craft Supplies. I have been asked by several people if we would be participating in a group buy this year. I would be willing to do it. However, we need to act fast. If you want to order, you can e-mail me your order @wisawdust at charter.net or I will have order forms available at next week's meeting. If you e-mail me your order, include the following: your name, phone number and e-mail address (in case we need to contact you about your order. For each item ordered, I need the following: part number, quantity ordering, cost and page number in the catalog (this last one is critical in case we have to look up the part.) . Send no money yet, we need to find out what kind of discount we get. We need a minimum of $1000 to participate. The second item is a little more personal. I need some help. I am trying to process a 16" diameter ash log for bowl blanks. Unfortunately, both of my chainsaws are acting up and need to be taken in. If you are available this week or after the meeting next week to help me rip this log for bowl blanks, let me know. This log was cut about 3 weeks ago. If you have a chain saw (at least 16" bar) and are willing to help me, give me a call at 608-397-9526 or e-mail me at wisawdust at charter.net. I would prefer you come to me, as this log weighs about 200 lbs. Thanks Duane -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It has a 20" bar and chain. The saw runs well, it is just hard starting. that was the problem I had with it. I took it to Steve's Small Engine Repair on the southside of La Crosse and had him look at it. He said the saw is in great condition. He also said some of these Ranchers are hard starting. He gave me some tips for starting it. Anyway, the main reason I am selling it is because it is hard starting, it really hurts my right shoulder when I pull and pull it. Once started, runs great. Plenty of power to rip an 18" diameter log 18-20" long. The saw is about 5 years old and is in great shape. I would like to get $300 (original cast was $450) for it. Let me know by email (wisawdust at charter.net) or by phone (608-397-9526) if you are interested. I will also bring the saw to the meeting this Saturday. Again, the main reason I am selling it is to cut down on wear and tear on my right shoulder. Thanks Duane -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Some nice looking pieces. There are a lot of pieces 6-8 inches in diameter. As you can see, a LOT of bigger pieces. If you want take some for firewood, you are welcome to. You might want to bring a chain saw. She basically wants the wood gone. Duane ----------------------------------------- -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Dec 1 is the deadline to get delivery by the December meeting. Second item. At the meeting Saturday, I had some bowls dropped off for the Empty Bowls donation to Holmen High School. This is some we have done for several years. If you have any bowls you would like to donate, give me a call at 608-397-9526; drop me an e-mail or drop the bowls off at my house (808 Quincy). The deadline for bowls is also December 1. Thanks. Duane -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... There is a lot of wood there and not too many people have asked and/or come to use it for turning or firewood. What I am proposing is a woodcutting Saturday, weather permitting, to cut up and move the wood so they can offer it for firewood. I am looking at either December 7 or 14, again weather permitting to do this. I am looking for 10-12 people with at least 4 chainsaws (more is better). Lunch would be provided. If someone has a splitter they would be willing to bring over, that would be great. We would cut up/split the wood and move it up the hill and closer to the road. Let me know if you are willing and available so we can plan this. E-mail me back at wisawdust.com or give me a call at 608-397-9526. Also need to know how much food (sloppy joes) to make up. Since they just had a baby about 4 months ago and also have a toddler, this would be extremely helpful to them.
