[crw-talk] Lumber sources

Call any cabinet company, they have the resources to order lumber, just have their saw mill cut what you want, square and cut one length side to it.

The worst they can say is no, but also ask if you can buy it directly from their supplier, cut out the middle man.

Woodcraft, at least the store in Madison WI, sells some natural edge lumber but sometimes it is 1 1/2", if I recall. Plan B would be to find a sawmill that will cut boards and not edge them, or only edge one side. But I think a sawmill will usually square a log before cutting it into boards. So probably not a production one but more of a hobbyist mill that does custom work. John

A friend of mine is looking for a source for wood to make floating shelves. Something a step above what you would find at menards or HD. Possibly natural edge. I cc’d him so your replies will reach him.
