Check this out. An excellent idea if it works. Would may need to be dry. I don’t know what would happened if it cracks or moves.

Water is the enemy of wood. As water
encounters wood, usually bad things happen.
But what if, when I turn a vase, I did not
have to worry about it?
What if, the solution is inexpensive? And,
does not require any special tools?
