Well everyone, I for one enjoyed Mark's demo. I think now I have a much
better idea of how to use carbide cutters. My issue has always been
that I find it darn near impossible to get nice cuts with cutting
carbide tips. Mainly I got self feeding, aggressive cuts and catches,
and scraping a bowl rather than cutting it just does not appeal to me.
In the past I would just get frustrated with the carbide and rely on the
steel tools. Until I would become adventuresome and go back to
misguided efforts to use carbide, then get frustrated once again and go
back to the old reliable steel. So right now I have several roughed out
bowl blanks drying and when they are ready, I am going to give the
carbide the old college try once again.
Thanks for bringing him in. John
