This seems like a project more suited for the woodcarvers group. If any of you know how to contact that group, it would be a nice gesture to share this request with them.

I had a lady contact me about making a small burial urn for a portion of her mother's remains. Since her ideas are not really in my skill set, I am putting this out to the membership to see if someone might agree to help her.
Colleen is her name, and her mother was very fond of turtles and yellow roses. She would prefer a container that looks like a turtle, with legs head and shell. Doesn't have to be colored or painted. Sounds like she has only a portion of her mom's ashes, so 10-12oz would probably be big enough. She will likely seal it shut and never open it. So it sounds like this would be carved more than turned, though I suppose some combination is a possibility.
I don't think she has much of a budget for this project, but I warned her it will be a custom project and she should be prepared, so I would discuss that with her in the planning stages.
Phone number 608-461-1373.
