Badger Woodturners is hosting David Ellsworth for a demonstration on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

David is a founding member of the AAW, and was president from 1986-1991. He has written over fifty articles on subjects related to craft and woodturning and has operated the Ellsworth School of Woodturning at his home and studio in Buck’s County, Pennsylvania since 1990. His works have been included in the permanent collections of thirty-six museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He has taught workshops throughout the world.

The demonstration will be held at Dave Hiller's Studio, W7038 Farmers Grove Road, Monticello, WI  53570.

Morning session:  Demonstrating a natural-edge and cut-rim open bowl with detailed explanations, plus tool design and sharpening and, if time permits, turning a 15-minute natural edge bowl, all using the Ellsworth signature gouge. Afternoon session: turning a hollow form plus open.
