[Crw-talk] Walnut finishing question

I have a suggestion that seems to work for me. After sanding, apply one
coat of shellac, applying from the bark to the bottom with the lathe
still.. This shellac should be thin enough so it does not build up on the
surface. This will seal the wood so the oil does not transfer color. I
then polish this with burlap or similar tough cloth. After that apply the
oil in the same manner, polishing with a soft cloth. That's it. Good Luck!
