Members:

I spoke today with Nancy Horton of the Great River Folk Fest. We have
appeared there to demonstrate and sell in the past and it is being held
on August 29-30. It is a great opportunity to both turn wood and
demonstrate our art and craft; as well as sell items made by members.
Remember the club handles the sales and takes a 25% cut, sellers will
receive a club check shortly after the event.

IMPORTANT: THE EVENT WILL BE HELD AT RIVERSIDE PARK IN LA CROSSE. Up
until last year it was held at UW La Crosse.

I will be getting more information from Ms. Horton and will pass it on
to members as needed.

The board wishes to encourage members to show up to demonstrate, to sell
items and to socialize with guests. When you come to the event, be
certain to tell the people at the gate you are with CRW so they will
admit you for free. It is a great place to educate people about our
club and what we do. We will need a chairperson/s to get the lathes,
tables and shelter to the park, members to help set up and take down and
so on. One of the benefits of appearing is that we can wander around
the grounds and listen to music, sample various foods for sale by
venders and look at all the other artist's booths.

We will have more details at the next meeting (at Shorty's, remember)
and on CRW Talk.

Thank you, John Griffiths, Program Director
