Members, Norskedalen 2014 has come and gone and it is time to thank the
members who made this possible.

First, thanks to John Phillips for his energy, vision and leadership in
putting this thing together. Without his effort it would not have
worked out nearly so well. He also sold a vase that went for a lot of
money.

Second, thanks to Jim Frank for his assistance, bringing tools and
supplies, the sugar in the form of donuts and cookies as well and the
pop and water. Jim's outsize personalty results in him making outsize
pieces that bring lots of money, specifically a really nice, very unique
bowl of spalted maple.

Third, thanks to the members who turned items that made our display
complete. We sold $512.00 worth of things, the best outcome I recall
from my time as treasurer in the club. The club made a tidy profit of
25% of that. I will be writing checks to members for their sales in the
next few days, watch your mail.

Fourth, thanks to the members who bellied up to the lathes and
demonstrated. This is always fun and is excellent PR for our craft and
the club.

Also thanks to members who worked the booth and discussed the pieces
with interested persons and answered questions. This may seem trivial,
but it is important to the success of the overall project.

Fifth, thanks to Clyde for the wood he brought and his assistance to
members who turned. Clyde has a great eye for design and teaches well.

I hope I have whipped up some enthusiasm as the Great River Folk
Festival is coming up at the end of August. This is a two day event and
once again, we will demonstrate and sell. That too is a great weekend
for the club so put it on your calender.

John
