Members:

The March tool raffle will be a vacuum chuck kit from Frugal Vacuum
Chucks (FrugalVacuumChuck at gmail.com) and it arrived today. I will bring
it to the January meeting so you all can feast your eyes on this
beauty. We will likely have it on display at the February meeting with
Alan Lacer as well. Remember, we are not permitted to sell tickets
before the March meeting but look it over at the meeting on the 18th,
feel free to drool over it, and start planning your uses for it in case
you are the winner.

It is not assembled, that is up to the winner of the raffle to put
together in whatever configuration suits him or her. The pump draws 25
inches HG of vacuum and is only a few years old. I plugged it in, it
runs very smoothly. The tubing, fittings, PVC coupling, vacuum gauge
and filter are included. You supply a block of wood for the chuck, some
scraps of lumber to build the base and a couple small common hardware
items such as two part epoxy and begin assembly.

Several members bought vacuum systems at the Eau Claire woodturning expo
and are happy with them. I plan to use mine this afternoon, as a matter
of fact. The Club was given a very good deal by Bob Leonard of Frugal
Vacuum Chucks and as part of the purchase, he has joined the club.

John
