Members, it's officially over and was a success. Other than being a
brutally hot weekend to be outside, the club was well represented and
did very well. Many of you noticed the story and picture of our own
champion turner, John Phillips in yesterday's Tribune. Financially, all
the members who placed items for sale had sales. Had we had more items,
we could have sold them. The club profited nicely and we may gain a new
member or three from passers-by who had a lathe but have not used it,
turn but not joined or are newcomers interested in our art and craft.
Just like I was three and a half years ago.

We sold $502 worth of turnings, and 75%, $376.50 goes to the turners who
made them and the club kept $25%, or $125.50. I will do checks for
sellers this afternoon.

So, a word to all, if you can volunteer to either work and turn at our
next event the Norskedalen Threshing Bee on September 21. We will have
John Phillips representing us, he will take one of the lathes. Take
along some turned items to sell or if you find yourself attending our
club meeting, send some along with someone who is going to the Threshing
Bee. Bob Raasch will be coordinating the event, keep an eye open for
communication from him. John
