Hello,
I have an old, perhaps not very valuable, violin that needs rebuilding.
It has the body and neck, the top and bottom needs some re-gluing; but
not the bridge, the part that you hold under your chin and against your
collarbone is missing and only one tuning peg. No strings. No
horsehair on the bow. It says "Hopf" on it. I once researched Hopf
violins on the web, genuine Hopf ones were supposed to be reasonably
good but a lot of cheap knock-offs were made with that name on them. I
have no idea if this is the genuine article or a knock-off.
It belonged to my father in law, he was notorious for not caring for
things.
I don't want it, I don't play any instrument but I would like for
someone to take it under their wing, so to speak, and restore it so once
again it will make beautiful music for it's owner. The easiest thing
for me would be to throw it away, but I can't make myself do that.
The price is right, FREE to the person who would be interested in a
project of this nature. Just reply to this email, call me at
608-248-2782 or drop me a line at 88 West 6th St. Buffalo City WI 54622.
John
