Every April 1, Woodworker's Journal puts out a e-zine that is hilarious.  Check out one of the articles on woodturning.

Use Manual Woodturning to Reduce Your Electric Bill
For those that see a noticeable uptick in their electricity bill every time they fire up their lathe, I have the solution for you: manual woodturning.
