Dear Members,

I have been asked and will be contributing my turned pieces to a benefit of a young man who was in an accident in August, which rendered him paralyzed in both his arms and legs (quadriplegic). The benefit is for Nick Dobbs from Melrose. It will be held on October 8 at the Melrose ball park. Nick will not be attending as he continues his long physical and emotional rehabilitation in a Rehab center in Milwaukee.

In my early Nursing days, I staffed the LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital Rehab center and worked very closely with young folks, like Nick, who were paralyzed in accidents. It was a crushing blow to them and their families. Nick will need emotional and financial support for the rest of his life.

If anyone is interested in donating a turned piece or two to this benefit, I will be happy to take to his Aunt Lori who will bring to the benefit in Melrose. Please let me know this weekend or by early next week if you have something to donate. You are welcomed to drop your donation of at my home (3480 Greenbriar Ct.-LaCrosse) or I will pick up (if not too far out) at your home. I would like to get them to Lori by early next week.

Thanks for your consideration and for your past donations to worthy causes like this. Our CRW members are known for their contributions and fellowship.

Sincerely,
Bob
